About Ericka






Ericka Hines, J.D. has designed leadership and management curricula that have been used by national nonprofits and government agencies. 

She has led over 20 education conferences and taught over 1500 people across multiple sectors, working with leaders at the local, state, national and international levels to build the individual capacity to lead and the increase the collective capacity to create change.

She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wright State University.

  • Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio.
  • Only child to a single mother.
  • Resident of Washington D.C. area since 1996.
  • A lover of all things diva for over 10 years. It started with hotmail and grew from there. And yes, people give me dica swag all the time.



  • Went to boarding school for high school. (No, it’s not like Facts of Life and I am not Tootie.)
  • Took a traditional approach to studying power and leadership. Got my B.A. in Political Science and a Juris Doctor (JD) in Law.
  • Dedicated professional learning and personal mastery to leadership, training and development, and facilitating change.
  • A student of yoga (mind and spirit) for over 10 years.


  • Wanted to be the first woman president of the United States at age 7; fell into leadership roles in junior high and high school (choir and academic geek). Volunteered for leadership roles in my college and professional career.
  • Led project teams as small as two and as large as 35 to produce annual gatherings for leaders in government, grassroots, legal and corporate sectors.
  • Dedicated professional learning and personal mastery to leadership, training and development, and facilitating change.
  • Founder of Social Change Diva, a leadership development firm that works with leaders in the public sector.
